Remembrance
(2017)

Remembrance is a mini-comic told in the perspective of a WWII Army Veteran who receives a package from his daughter filled with his memorabilia from his time in service. We follow his memories, both good and bad, during times of violence, loss, and fear. The theme of his mini-comic is mental health by showing that sometimes, the scars that are the least visible, hurt the most. It's important to remember though that one is not defined by the shadows they leave behind, but rather, how much they radiate the light ahead.Remembrance Written and Illustrated by Cal Sabatini.

Campbell, has been reported as captured in action on January twenty-nineth. During a particularly fatal raid lead by Lieutenant Charles M. Jacobs, your son was captured by the Enemy. It is believed he is now en route to the nearest concentration camp to their last reported location. If further details or other information are received, you will be promptly notified.Ulio The Adjutant GeneralGeoffery J.Prisoner of Dorothy Written and Illustrated by Cal Sabatini.

Change
(2019)

Change is a mini-comic focused around a solider who died on the field and now remains as a ghost to forever watch time change and evolve around him.The theme of this mini-comic is time. To look back on where we as a community came from, the sacrifices made along the way, and how, despite trauma and war, we as humans are able to move on are all shown in this short, 8-page story.Change Written and Illustrated by Cal Sabatini.

Pawn
(2019)

Pawn is a mini-comic told from the perspective of an active duty WWII soldier commenting on human nature and the natural inclination of violence by humans. This mini-comic was created with inspiration from WWII soldiers, historians, journals during the time period, and interviews around various missions enacted during the time. Many soldiers have noted that they have felt like chess pieces, something less than human, when called to action while historians reveal that certain operations were performed merely to kill those who were seen as less than favorable for the front lines on all sides of the war.Pawn was created to bring attention to this. That these people who fought were more than just statistics on a research paper and more than pieces on a board. They were human too.Pawn Written and Illustrated by Cal Sabatini. In collaboration with Giavonna Sabatini

About Cal Sabatini

Hello there! My name is Cal Sabatini and I’m a visual storyteller, illustrator, and comic book artist. I'm fond of creating works in genres such as fiction, fantasy, sci-fi, and biographical, though the list does not stop there.I have always been a storyteller since I could hold a pencil, writing tales of knights in shining armor, monsters who live under your bed, and superheroes who face defeat and defiance. My goal as an artist is to weave these loose threads of stories into a beautiful tapestry for others to enjoy, to find solace in its patterns, and to breathe new life into old strings. If you have any questions or business inquiries, send me a message and I’ll be sure to get back to you within 24 hours!
